Weekend!

It’s Friday. I made it through the week. Yesterday was Picture Day at my school. My outfit looked nice, but, boy, was it hot. It was fine a quarter of the day, but I was sweating for the rest of the day. When I was on the bus, I was warm, and that’s saying something, considering it was below freezing yesterday. Luckily, when I got home at the very end of the day, I changed into pajamas, and took a shower. Today I was back to comfort, in some normal sweatpants and a t-shirt. We had a pre-assessment for SRSD, and were told that it was due today. It was long. We had to read two stories, then write an essay comparing and contrasting the two. In the end, we got extra time. So I’m doing more of that on Monday. This week was a long week. Happy December.

A Good Day

Today was a pretty good day. It started off, when I was waking up this morning. Something told me it would be a good day. Turns out I was right. Later, I headed off to school, and made a random act of kindness. I saw trash on the ground, and picked it up. There was a trash can there, okay? Before I say anything else, I just want to say it was freezing out today. So, basically, we have this thing called walkie-talkie at my school, and the “older” kids, like me, have to walk around the whole school. We really shouldn’t have had walkie-talkie today, but, of course, we did. In the middle of a round, we stopped, and I was really hoping they figured out everyone was cold, and were going to bring us inside. But, again, of course, they didn’t. We did another round, and went inside. We had a pre-assessment in music class, and, to be fair, that was pretty fun. Later, I walked home from school with my friend. Today was a pretty good day.

I’m Back From Break..

It’s that time again. You know what time I’m talking about? School. Yay.. Anyways! Welcome back. My favorite parts of Thanksgiving were, and still are, the sweet potato casserole, and the pumpkin pie, by far. What’s your favorite part? Back to the point, I’m back from my Thanksgiving break! School was pretty good today, so why not talk about it? First of all, it’s against the rules to play in the snow on the rims of our blacktop at school, so do you know what all the boys at my school did this morning? Go on, take a wild guess. If you know the kids at my school, you know the answer is this: Of course, they run and play in the snow. One of them was laying in it. Surprise, surprise. When I came inside today, my nose and my fingers were freezing. It wasn’t even the coldest it’s been. Welcome to New England. We were doing plays in science last week, and this week, and everyone finished preforming today. To be honest, that was pretty crazy. Thanks for reading! Enjoy the rest of your day.

The Short Week

Yep. That’s for sure. It’s my dream come true; A five day weekend, a two day week. Happy early-Thanksgiving! I have no homework today, and I feel great! I had no ELA homework, because we usually have all week to do it, but, of course, that wouldn’t be fair. I don’t have science very often, so, yeah. And I have no math homework either, because my math teacher let us do it in class. This year, my grandparents are coming to my house for Thanksgiving, which is great, because pretty much all my family lives in Maryland. For our “Thanksgiving feast”, we are ordering from the best restaurant ever, Boston Market, and that will be delicious. I can’t wait! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Welcome Back!

This week is a confusing week. I had a math test on the computer, it’s a four day week, and I have a sleepover. First, the test. Yesterday, my math teacher told us that we were having a math test on the computer. He said we might have already done the test, and that we’re doing it again. On top of that, most of us weren’t finished, so we went back to the computer lab today. Yay. There was also a four day week this week, so I at first thought that today was Tuesday. It’s Wednesday. The last part, the sleepover! I’m probably going to have a sleepover Friday with my best friend. We’ll have pizza, and ice cream, and everything! Awesome! See you later!

Happy Veteran’s Day!

Happy Veteran’s Day! Veteran’s Day is such a special holiday, and no one actually thinks about it enough. Think about it. Do you know anyone who is a veteran? Just so you know, once a veteran, always a veteran. On November 12, we honor all of the people served. Whether they are in the Army, Navy, or Air Force, we have to realize important they are to our country. So on Veteran’s Day, remember everyone who served, and still serves today, and if you see a veteran, make sure to thank them. Thank you veterans!!

T.G.I.F!

Hello everybody! I’m back again! It’s Friday! Finally! It felt like it took a year to become Friday. School’s out! Let me tell you about yesterday. Yesterday we had art class (My Favorite!) , and my art teacher said she chose 5th grade, and 5th grade only, to do the borders for the hallway bulletin board! Yes, I know what you’re thinking, “What on Earth is that?!”, but let me explain. We have this bulletin board on the second floor at my school, and it displays art that students have done in art class. My art teacher picks one grade per year to decorate that bulletin board. So my class bordered a bunch of art with construction paper. Today, We had gym class, and did stations! I got all sweaty, but it was worth it. My favorite station was scooters. We raced on them, and rode across the gym on them. It was the best! Whenever it’s Friday, I walk home from school (I do Monday, Wednesday, Friday), and do that with my best friend. He and I shout, “Schools out!” the second we exit the classroom. It’s the best. Happy Friday!

All About Me!

Hi, my name is River, and welcome to my blog! Here, you’ll basically learn all about my life, and what I do every day. So, to start it all off, I’m 10 years old, my favorite color is blue, and I live with my Mom, my Dad, my two dogs, and my cat. One of my dogs is Charlie, and we used to train him, but we kind of stopped. He knows how to “wait”, and “lay down”, and “sit”, but that’s basically it. He is your everyday dog: likes playing outside, chewing on things, you know. My other dog is Sara. The thing with her is, she’s a really gentle and relaxed dog; Until you put her outside. At 7 am, all you hear is, “Bark, bark, bark!” Yeah. Then there’s Taika, my cat. You pet her, and put her next to some cat grass, and she’s set. She’s got “perches” all around my house, including, the foot of my bed. And people wonder why it’s so furry there. I’m telling you, it’s not me!
